OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Xander Bomert, Fr., OPP, Charleston

Xander continued his prolific freshman season as the Eagles opened EIVA conference action with a pair of wins at Sacred Heart on Feb. 8-9. The opposite totaled 35 kills on .349 hitting in the two matches, with two aces, an assist, 15 digs and five blocks, two solo. During a 3-0 sweep in the opening match of the weekend, he had 13 kills on .360 hitting with an ace, seven digs and two blocks. A four-set victory followed the next day as he put down 22 kills to match his career high as the top single-match performance in the EIVA this year. He also had an ace, eight digs and three blocks. Bomert ranks sixth in the nation in swings per set (8.88), is seventh in kills per set (4.06) and 13th in points per set (4.49), leading the EIVA in all three categories. This is the second EIVA weekly honor of the freshman’s career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alexander Lillie, Fr., MB, George Mason
Alexander continues to be tough to be tough to beat defensively and efficient on offense as he earns his second straight weekly EIVA honor. The freshman middle blocker totaled 19 kills with two errors to hit .486, adding six aces, three digs and 13 blocks, five of them solo. He had seven kills on an error-free 14 swings to hit .500 during a 3-2 loss at NJIT on Feb. 7, adding career highs of four aces, eight total blocks and four solo stuffs. He followed with a career-high dozen kills on .476 hitting with two aces, three digs and five more blocks, one solo, in a 3-1 win at FDU on Feb. 8. Lillie ranks fifth in the EIVA with 1.03 blocks per set, his 30 total blocks rank second in the conference and his 11 solo stuffs lead the EIVA and ranks fifth in the nation. His .495 hitting leads the EIVA and would rank fifth in the country, but he is one swing short of eligibility for the NCAA’s criteria of averaging 3.3 attempts per set.
