For the third time in five years, the EIVA put five teams on the annual AVCA Team Academic Award list, and no NCAA Division I-II men’s conference had more honorees than the EIVA.
Charleston, George Mason, Harvard, NJIT and Princeton all earned honors on the 34th annual list. In addition, the Patriots, Crimson and Tigers were among the four Division I men’s programs who earned Team Academic Honor Roll recognition with their GPAs in the top 20 percent among men’s teams on the list, and Harvard repeated as the Team Academic Champion with the highest NCAA Division I men’s GPA.
The EIVA also had five AVCA Team Academic Award winners last year and in 2022. At 71 percent, no men’s conference had a better year than the EIVA with five of its seven teams making the list. The MIVA matched the EIVA with five of its nine teams (56 percent) honored. The GLVC was the only other men’s conference to see at least 50 percent of its teams honored with four of its eight programs.
The AVCA has been handing out the honor since the 1992-93 season to programs scoring GPAs of 3.3 or better on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 or better on a 5.0 scale to men’s and women’s teams in high school and all divisions of NCAA, NAIA and junior college for indoor and beach play.
The Crimson are on the Academic Honor Roll for a seventh straight year and a ninth time in the past 10 seasons, by far best among NCAA Division I-II teams. Also, they are Team Academic Award winners for a 17th time in 18 years and listed for a 15th consecutive season, best among all collegiate men’s programs.
The Patriots made the list for a third straight season, the fifth time in seven years and seventh time overall. The Highlanders are honored for a seventh straight campaign and 10th time in 13 years, the Tigers are listed for a third straight year and fourth time overall and the Eagles made the list for a second time, joining 2017. George Mason and Princeton each made the Team Academic Honor Roll for the first time.
The AVCA honored 1,432 teams for their work over the 2025-26 academic year, with 24 of them NCAA Division I-II men’s programs, 13 just in Division I.
