Four EIVA student-athletes earned All-America honors from the AVCA on May 6. The group was comprised of a trio from EIVA champion Penn State and one from NJIT.
The Nittany Lion representatives were led by Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Player of the Year Sean Harvey, who picked up second-team accolades. The redshirt sophomore led the EIVA in hitting (.329), was third in kills (3.59) and points (4.24) per set and 10th in aces per set (0.24) en route to his first All-America award.
The other three representatives garnered honorable mention status, with Penn State’s Ryan Merk and Owen Rose along with NJIT’s Wiktor Nowak. This marks the fourth season Merk has appeared on the AVCA list and third time for Rose, while Nowak appears for the first time. Merk led the EIVA in digs per set (2.11), Nowak led the EIVA in kills (3.95) and points (4.52) per set and Rose leads the nation in blocks per set (1.42).
