With each team needing victories to secure postseason positions, Penn State's Sean Harvey and Tristan Whitfield each had clutch performances and earned the final EIVA weekly awards of 2026 on April 20.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sean Harvey, R-So., OH, Penn State
Sean came through in the big moments for No. 15 Penn State in a pair of 3-2 wins vs. George Mason to cap an undefeated EIVA regular season. The redshirt sophomore totaled 38 kills on .373 hitting, adding one ace, four assists, 21 digs and eight blocks. In the first contest April 17, Harvey had 20 kills on .357 hitting with two assists, six digs and a career-high five blocks. The next day he had 18 kills on .394 hitting with one ace, two assists, three blocks and a career-high 15 digs. Harvey has hit double figures in kills in all but four of his 23 matches this season, including three contests of at least 20 kills. He has 92 kills on .367 hitting over his last five matches. He leads the EIVA hitting .324 and ranks third in kills (3.57) and points (4.23) per set. This is Harvey’s fourth EIVA weekly of the season and his career.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Tristan Whitfield, Jr., MB, Princeton
Tristan played a major role in two must-win matches for Princeton to keep its season alive. The junior middle blocker totaled 14 kills on .571 hitting with three assists, four digs and nine blocks as the Tigers swept Harvard 3-2 and 3-0 to secure the sixth and final berth in the EIVA Championship Tournament while knocking the Crimson out of the event. Whitfield had seven kills and one error in each match, hitting .545 in the first and .600 in the second. He had an assist, two digs and four blocks, one solo, in Match 1. He added two assists, two digs and five blocks, one solo, in Match 2. Whitfield is fourth in the EIVA averaging 1.03 blocks per set and he has at least five blocks in four of his last seven matches. This is the third EIVA weekly honor of Whitfield’s career and second this season.
