The Princeton Tigers were a tough opponent in the EIVA in 2025. Conference teams managed to take 14 sets from the Tigers this season.
Guiding the team was Sam Shweisky, leading Princeton to a 14-10 overall record and 10-2 in the EIVA. The conference’s other six coaches unanimously rewarded Shweisky with the Bob Sweeney Memorial EIVA Coach of the Year award.
Princeton, as the No. 1 seed, hosts the EIVA Championship Tournament in Dillon Gym, beginning April 23 through the final match April 26. The Tigers will play in the April 24 semifinals against the winner of the first-round match between Charleston and George Mason. The Tigers have reached the EIVA title match six times during Shweisky’s tenure, winning the trophy in 2019 and 2022. They have been in the finals four times in the past seven seasons. The EIVA did not have a tournament in 2020 and Princeton did not participate in the 2021 season.
Shweisky has posted a 181-186 record during his 16 seasons at Princeton. This marks his second regular-season EIVA banner and his third Bob Sweeney Memorial EIVA Coach of the Year award. He also was honored in 2010 and 2019.
