Penn State's Pavlik announces retirement after 2026 season

Entering 33rd season, Pavlik leads active NCAA men's volleyball coaches in wins

Penn State coach Mark Pavlik announced Dec. 4 the upcoming season will be his last at the helm of the Nittany Lions. He plans to retire at the campaign's end.
The 10-time Bob Sweeney Memorial EIVA Coach of the Year has a 694-241 career record, which leads all active National Collegiate-level coaches and ranks fourth all time. The Nittany Lions also have 25 EIVA tournament titles and 27 regular-season crowns under Pavlik's guidance, 25 NCAA tournament appearances, four trips to the national championship match and the 2008 NCAA title.
The 1982 Penn State alum was a setter for the Nittany Lions and served as an assistant coach for the program before taking the helm in 1995. he is one of only three coaches in the program's 50-plus-year history. He also serves as the EIVA's vice president.
