Henry Wedbush has been a steady driver at the wheel of the Princeton offense for the past four seasons. He has used his Tiger weapons around the court, pushed his teammates and kept them contending each season in the EIVA.
Riding through 2025 to a regular-season conference title, the reward for his confident leadership is the Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Player of the Year. He earns the honor after a vote of EIVA coaches following the end of the regular season.
As the No. 1 seed, Wedbush and the Tigers host the EIVA Championship Tournament, which begins April 23. Princeton has a bye into the semifinals on April 24 and will face the winner of the first-round match between Charleston and George Mason. The championship match is April 26.
The 6-foot-4 senior earned his third All-EIVA selection by the coaches as well, including first-team honors in 2024 and a second-team award in 2023.
This season he has 759 assists, 35 kills, 15 service aces, 115 digs and 47 blocks. He also guided the Tigers to an EIVA-leading .277 hitting percentage. In eight matches this season he recorded at least 40 assists and six times the team hit .350 or better. On April 18, when Princeton won 3-1 at Penn State to clinch the outright EIVA crown, Wedbush had big performance with 42 assists, three kills, an ace, six digs and eight blocks.
For his career, the Manhattan Beach, Calif., product has 2,789 assists, averaging 8.72 assists per set. He also has 130 kills on .248 hitting, 69 aces, 457 digs and 173 blocks.
Wedbush is the program’s second Uvaldo Acosta Memorial EIVA Player of the Year winner, joining 2019 honoree George Huhmann.
