Princeton's Nyherowo Omene is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for April 7, 2025. Nyherowo was a force in a pair of key Tiger victories that solidified their lead atop the EIVA. The senior pin hitter totaled 26 kills, five aces, four assists, 18 digs, nine blocks and was 17 for 17 in service receptions. He nearly posted a triple-double in a 3-1 victory against George Mason on April 4, with 18 kills on .308 hitting, two aces, two assists, 11 digs and seven blocks. The next day he added eight kills, three aces, two assists, seven digs and a pair of blocks. Omene has posted double figures in kills in 16 of his 19 matches in 2025, leads the EIVA in aces (0.48) and points (5.05) per set and is second in kills per set (4.12) and hitting percentage (.334). Nationally, he ranks fifth in points, seventh in kills and 12th in aces per set. This is the fourth EIVA weekly honor in 2025 for Omene and fifth of his career.
