After tight duel between Harvard and Charleston, with each winning one match, the Crimson’s Zach Berty captured the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week honor for March 10, 2025. Zach posted some big numbers both offensively and defensively in the Crimson’s split weekend of matches at Charleston on March 8 and 9. The junior outside hitter nearly notched a pair of double-doubles as he totaled 28 kills on 71 swings to hit .296 with six aces, an assist, 21 digs and three blocks, two of them solo stuffs. During Harvard’s five-set win in the opener, Berty had 17 kills while hitting .279 with three aces and a dozen digs. He had 11 kills on .321 hitting with three more aces, an assist, nine digs and three blocks, two solo, in their four-set loss in the next day’s rematch. The 17 kills, three aces, 20 points and 12 digs were all season highs, and the 12 digs was the best of his career. Berty ranks fourth in the EIVA hitting .328. This is the first EIVA weekly honor of the season for Berty and second of his career.
