Martin delivered a pair of solid performances in a split week for the Highlanders. The senior middle blocker had six kills on .417 hitting with seven blocks, one solo, and two digs during a 3-2 EIVA-opening win at NJIT on Jan. 26. He added eight kills on .583 hitting with four blocks and two digs in a 3-1 loss to No. 5 Pepperdine. In nine sets on the week he totaled 14 kills with one error in each match to hit .500, 11 blocks and four digs. This is the first weekly EIVA award this season for de Chavarria, and the third of his career.
