Princeton's Nyherowo Omene is the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week for Feb. 3, 2025. Nyherowo put up an impressive performance, with an even more stunning finale, in the Tigers’ only match of the week. The senior pin hitter fired in 13 kills on an error-free 16 swings to hit .813 in a 3-0 sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson on Jan. 31 for Princeton, which is tied at No. 17 in this week’s AVCA rankings. He added six aces, two assists, six digs and five blocks. During a 25-10 third set win, Omene had four kills and a block before ripping off five consecutive aces to get Princeton to match point, capped by a kill from teammate Tristan Whitfield. Omene is third in the EIVA and 18th nationally at 0.52 aces per set, his 3.52 kills average and .369 hitting percentage are both second in the EIVA, and he leads the EIVA and is 21st nationally at 4.40 points per set. Also, his 110 career aces leads active EIVA student athletes and is fifth across all of NCAA Div. I. This is Omene’s first weekly conference award of the season and the second of his career.
