George Mason's Elijah Lazor is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for Jan. 27, 2025. Elijah made the most of his return to the Patriot lineup. The junior middle blocker totaled eight kills on .500 hitting with a pair of aces and 10 blocks while playing in only five of the Patriots’ 10 sets for the week. Lazor saw time in two final sets of a 3-0 sweep of King (Tenn.) on Jan. 24, tallying four kills on .429 hitting with two aces and five blocks. The next night in a 3-0 rematch with the Tornado, Lazor started his second match of the season, playing all three sets, while posting four more kills on an error-free seven swings to hit .571, adding another five blocks. This is the first EIVA weekly honor of Lazor’s career.
