Penn State's Owen Rose is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for April 15, 2024. He and teammate John Kerr, the Offensive Player of the Week, are the final weekly award winners of 2024. Owen’s work above the net helped the Nittany Lions’ defense in two wins vs. George Mason. Rose tallied a career-high 13 kills on .600 hitting with an assist, a dig and seven blocks in a 3-2 first-match victory. He followed with eight kills on .636 hitting with an ace and five blocks, one solo in a 3-1 win on April 13. He totaled 21 kills on .613 hitting, making one error in each match, with an assist, an ace, a dig and a dozen blocks. His 0.84 blocks per set ranks seventh in the conference. This is the first career EIVA weekly honor of the season for Rose and third of his career.
