Princeton's Tristan Whitfield is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for March 25, 2024. Tristan had a major role in the No. 15 Tigers’ defensive effort during an EIVA road victory against NJIT on March 23. The freshman middle blocker had six kills on .400 hitting with seven blocks and a pair of digs during the 3-1 win. His effort helped Princeton win the blocking battle 15.5-10, holding the Highlanders to .149 hitting. Whitfield has had seven blocks in three of his last four matches and at least five blocks in six of his past eight outings. His 1.35 blocks per set leads the EIVA and would stand third nationally but he has not played enough of Princeton’s sets this season to qualify nationally. This is the first career EIVA weekly honor for Whitfield.
