Michal had a pair of all-around performances in Penn State’s four-set victories against Pepperdine and Stanford. He knocked in 11 kills while making only one error to hit .625 against the Waves on Jan. 20, adding a career-high four aces, four digs and three blocks. He followed the next night with 14 kills, matching his career high, on .345 hitting with one ace, two blocks and five digs. He totaled 25 kills on .444 hitting with five aces, five blocks and nine digs during the weekend in Austin, Texas, as Penn State improved to 6-0. This is the first weekly EIVA award for Kowal.
