Penn State's Owen Rose is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for April 17, 2023. Owen’s play above the net secured two weekend wins for the Nittany Lions to complete a second straight undefeated EIVA regular season and the top seed in the conference tournament April 19-22. The sophomore middle blocker totaled nine kills on .467 hitting with 10 blocks and a pair of digs in a weekend sweep of Charleston. Rose notched six kills and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep of April 14, then had three kills and seven blocks in a 3-1 win the following day. He leads the EIVA and ranks seventh in the nation averaging 1.097 blocks per set. Rose captures his third weekly EIVA award for this season and his career.
