Penn State's Owen Rose is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for March 30, 2025. Owen notched three more solid outings at the net for Penn State in three wins against ranked foes. The redshirt sophomore had two kills on .333 hitting with an ace, a dig and four blocks in a four-set win against No. 15 Ohio State. In the first of two 3-0 wins against No. 19 NJIT, he had nine kills on an error-free 10 swings to hit .900, plus one assist and six blocks. It marked the sixth time this season Rose had at least five kills in a match while hitting over .600. In his second outing against the Highlanders Rose had four kills on .375 hitting with three aces, one assist, one dig and six blocks, one solo. Rose, who entered the weekend leading the nation in blocking at 1.328 per set, has recorded at least six blocks in a match six times this season. He totaled 15 kills on .619 hitting, four aces, two assists, two digs and 16 blocks. He also was 4 for 4 in service receptions. This is the sixth EIVA weekly honor of Rose’s career and second of the season.
