NJIT's Wiktor Nowak  is the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for Feb. 9, 2026. Wiktor carried a heavy load in the Highlanders 3-1 victory against Princeton to open 2026 conference play. The sophomore opposite registered a career-high 29 kills on 56 swings to hit .339. He also had an ace, an assist, four digs and six blocks, including a solo stuff. He had eight kills in both the first and third sets alone, with one error on 16 attempts in the first frame, and he never had fewer than six kills in any of the match’s four sets. It marks the second time this season Nowak had reached 20-plus kills, and he has double digits in kills in seven of the last eight matches. He is fourth in the EIVA with 3.55 kills per set and is third at 4.09 points per set. Nowak picks up his first career EIVA weekly award.
