Harvard finally playing at home, hosts Laval

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Harvard men's volleyball opens up its home schedule with three matches this week, all live on ESPN+. The Crimson begins the week with a pair of matches against Laval University (Canada) on Wednesday, Jan. 9 and Thursday, Jan. 10, and follows it with a matchup against UC San Diego on Saturday, Jan. 12. All three matches will begin at 7 p.m.

What to Know
- The Crimson is 1-1 all time vs. Laval, with the last matchup being a loss, 3-1, in 2014.
- This will be the first meeting between Harvard and UC San Diego in program history.
- Last week the Crimson took No. 10 UC Santa Barbara and No.11 CSUN to five sets in back-to-back matches, falling 3-2 in both.
- Junior setter Matthew Ctvrtlik fell one assist shy of tying his career high in assists against No. 11 CSUN, handing out 39 throughout the five-set match. 

Brian Baise, The Head Coach of Men's Volleyball and James Herscot '58 Coach of Excellence
Head coach Brian Baise enters his 11th season at the helm of the Harvard men's volleyball program. Baise owns a 124-109 record on the sidelines, including a 100-72 record over the past seven seasons. Last year, he led the Crimson to its first-ever EIVA Tournament championship and NCAA Men's Volleyball Tournament appearance.

The Crimson travels to Fairfield, Conn. for a mid-week matchup against Sacred Heart on Thursday, Jan. 24 beginning at 7 p.m.
