Jack Reese has been selected as the EIVA Defensive Player of the Week for March 18, 2019. Jack was a force at the net with the first two double-digit blocking performances of his career in the Patriots’ three road matches, a 3-0 loss to No. 6 Pepperdine, and a 3-2 loss and 3-0 win against Grand Canyon. Against the Lopes, he had a career-high 12 blocks in the first contest, and 10 blocks and five kills with no errors to hit .625 the next night. He finished the week with 18 kills, 23 blocks, one solo. Jack ranks second in the EIVA this season, averaging 1.32 blocks per set. This is the second EIVA weekly award of the season and third of his career for the redshirt sophomore. This is the second time the Patriots’ Wagner and Reese have swept the EIVA’s weekly awards this season, with the pair also honored Feb. 11.
